The words "God is great, there is no God but Allah.
Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Come to prayer." are the first words
that a Muslim baby should hear, they are whispered in the ear of the newborn
baby by its mother or father.
The baby’s first food needs to be something
sweet. Muslim’s do this because it was what Muhammad first did. After seven
days they shave the baby’s head and weight the hair they then give the same
weight of money to a charity, this connects to almsgiving one of the five
pillars of Islam.
On the seventh day the baby if it is a boy
is also circumcised but this process an happen anytime before puberty, they
also sacrifice a lamb which is symbolic of Moses and distribute the meat to
family or give it to charity.
